Us the MacGillivrays

The MacGillivrays are part of the furniture on this croft; we moved here in 1868 from the Point of Sleat.

Dede, who oversees the holiday lets, is the 5th generation to work the croft, she lives in the older croft house her grandfather built in the 1920s for his parents with her husband Joel.

Her father Neil MacGillivray built Druim Bàn ten years ago and he now splits his time between Edinburgh and the house. Neil is a Scottish Historian who knows more about the local area than most.

Dede & Joel (who is also a building conservator and traditional builder) run Croft No.8, a catering for wedding and events business, and often do pop-up restaurants in their home. They also do workshops in their kitchen covering everything from butchery & sausage-making to Middle Eastern cookery so do ask if you are interested.
